End of a Season

On May 14th Lawson completed his final game of his 3rd flag football season. This was an especially memorable season all of us. This being his 6th organized sports experience - after 2 soccer seasons, 2 football seasons, and 1 basketball season - Lawson's athleticism has really progressed. His primary strength is on defense when he's playing the line. He is usually the first one into the opposing teams quaterback after the ball is hiked. On offense he's a great running back and he throws one heck of a spiral.

In his final game, which was a career best, he racked up some pretty impressive highlights. They include;

• Kickoff Return for a TD - Lawson ran about 3/4 of the way down the field for a touchdown after receiving a lateral pass from one of his team mates on the kickoff (see pic below).
  
• Multiple 'Sacks' - On defense Lawson was one of the starting four linemen. He downed the quarterback at least once out of every four downs he played. He is a blitzing stud.
  
• Two TD passes - Of the four passes he threw during the game, two resulted in touchdown's after throwing each about 5-10 yards. The little guy has got an arm on him.

The other reason this season was so special was that dad had an opportunity to co-coach the team with another one of the players dads. The original coach never showed up, nor did his kid that was supposed to be on the team, so dad and Jason (another dad) stepped in and took over. For being his first coaching gig, dad did a pretty good job and had a fun time in the process. There is nothing better than father coaching his son in sports. It's the moment dad had waited for since he found out mommy was pregnant with a healthy baby boy.


We're so proud of Lawson, he's accomplished so much and never quits. He always want to try harder and be better.
