Happy Halloween

This Halloween Josh and Lawson dressed up as skeleton's and Niki dressed up as a (beautiful) Witch. And yes, little Ms. Belle also got in on the action. She dressed up as a vampire bat. Pretty scary. Our neighborhood is so new, with so few houses, that we opted to try our luck elsewhere when we traveled to grandma and grandpa Mackenzie's hood. It turned out to be a good move since we piled up a good half pillow case full of the sugary stuff. Niki took it easy on us all this time and allowed us to only do one subdivision instead of 2 or 3 like normal. That girl is a trick or treat trooper.


We were fortunate enough to team up with a group of kids that live across the street from grandma and grandpa. Lawson has played with one of these little boys a few times before, his name is Jackson and he's a year younger than Lawson. It was nice to have someone he knew to make the rounds with.

Being completely different than all of Lawson's previous Halloween experiences, this year our trick or treating weather was in the upper 70's. It was so warm that not even half way through the night Lawson took off his mask, followed by his under shirt a short time later. Much different than the 12 inches of snow we hoofed through 2 years ago at Suncrest.

One of the houses on our route had a scary pair of monsters lowering candy down to the kids in a cauldron. There was fog and scary sounds and everything. It was really one of the best houses we've seen in recent years. The kids loved it.

Unfortunately nobody had any doggy treats. Poor Bella Smella. When we got back home at the end of the night we had to give Ms. Junk-in-her-Trunk a shampoo. That black face paint we put on her head just wasn't meant for dog fur, it was rubbing off on everything. She had a fun day though. Just being with her people and sniffing everything made her a happy doggy.
