Good Boy

This past week Lawson worked so hard on his school work. His spelling words have been getting harder and harder throughout the year, and this week he had some challenging ones. Friday he took his test and scored 100%. Hooray, Lawson! We're so proud of you. As a special treat we took him to maybe his second life time visit to Baskin and Robbins (I know, he's deprived). His prize was any ice cream with any topping. At first he was wanting something with coffee in it. He thinks because he can't drink coffee, getting ice cream with coffee will make him feel like a grown up. Just before making his selection he spotted the vanilla, chocolate and caramel swirl, which was enough to change his mind. The appeal of something he knows is good versus getting something that just make's him feel grown up won out. As much as he wants to be grown up, probably due to him being around adults most of the time, he still has a lot of that little monkey we know and love. To top it all off, he figured the best topping for a chocolate, vanilla, caramel dessert is some colorful gummy bears. He's still a kid after all.

This was just the start of an exciting 9 day spring break adventure we're about to embark on, with the highlight being a trip to great grandma Kings' farm in Palstine next week.
