Last weekend we headed to East Texas to spend a few days with Grandma Clara at her farm near Grapeland. It was a short trip, but we had a nice relaxing time. Although the weather wasn't great, we did have a few windows during the weekend storm which we spent outside shooting Lawsons' Red Rider BB Gun and fishing out of their big pond.

I caught a small Bass (about 9"), but Niki and Lawson had no luck. We really wished Lawson would have had a chance to reel in his first fishy, but it wasn't meant to be. Next time we'll be sure to take along a good stock of wax worms and nightcrawlers.
Belle was in heaven with all the room she had to run. She found the lake and couldn't stay out of it. Believe it or not she still hasn't grasp the whole swimming thing yet. Her technique resembles that of a drowning dog, more than it does the doggy paddle. She mostly stays near the shore, laying down, getting up, moving, laying down, getting up, moving, etc. She only occasionally goes in to the point where she can't touch the bottom. She's our 'special' girl.
