How 'bout a swing?

On Monday afternoon nana and papa Mills went back to Utah after spending Thanksgiving with us. Lawson was a little down when he got home from school, knowing that his grandma and grandpa were gone, so we decided to do something fun to take his mind off things. We decided to make a rope swing to hang in one of the many trees out back. After a few quick cuts with the miter saw, we had ourselves the making of a perfect seat. Lawson got the job of sanding down the corners and making the whole thing smooth so he wouldn't get any slivers in his bum. He did a great job, by the time he was finished the seat was as smooth as a piece of fine custom furniture. The next thing we did was drill a whole in the center and thread the rope through. Daddy showed Lawson how to tie a good strong knot to hold the seat and another to secure it to the tree limb. After about 20 minutes, we had a first class rope swing. Lawson thought it was the coolest thing in the world. Ahhh, the magic of cheap entertainment. Parents, you gotta' love it.
